Auksuole Varkuleviciene is Vilnius, Lithuania based Tap dance instructor, performer, as well as musicologist and journalist. She is one of the pioneers who represent American Tap dance culture traditions and try to build the Tap dance community movement in Lithuania.
Auksuole gave presentations on American Tap dance throughout Lithuania. She wrote a book "American Tap dance", which contains a short history of Tap dance, Tap dance methodology and a Tap dance dictionary in Lithuanian (2023).
She started tap dancing in 2008. Every year she participates in Tap dance festivals and master classes to develop her dance skills.
Auksuole started the Tap dance group JustTap in 2011 and later created the JustTap Dance Company. She is the founder and creative director of this studio, which aims to present classics and various techniques, styles, and ways of American Tap dance. In her classes, she pays the most attention to Tap dance techniques which have been developed through her own experience as a tap student as well as a Tap instructor. Her experience combines with her degree in music. She studied musicology and piano at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre as well as journalism at Vilnius University.
Since 2010 Auksuole regularly teaches children, youth, and adults. Her students participate in European and World Tap dance championships, as well as various international Tap dance competitions; appears in concerts, festivals, dances with jazz bands and participates in television shows.
Since 2021 Auksuole is a judge at Lithuanian dance competitions and ranking competitions. And in 2023 she was invited as a Theme Class teacher at “Stockholm Tap Festival 2023”.
While working with musical theatre students, Auksuole created Tap dance choreographies for the musicals "Yellow Brick Road" (based on "The Wizard of Oz") and "Saunuolynas" (based on "Nunsense").
As an American tap dance choreographer, she created the performance for Florian Zeller's "Son" for the Lithuanian Youth Theater (2024 February).
